So there we go.. a couple of months ago.. MAC came out with their latest collection… Barbie Loves MAC, the first color collabo between MAC and Mattel inspired by no other than the sexy Barbie….
And this is what you get!!!
Honestly the colors are gorgeous… highly pigmented pink and gorgeous greens…
But is it wearable???
I would, without a second thought, rock this.. there are always great combinations of color possible for woman of all ethnicity.. But people are scarred of ending up looking like drag queens.. understandingly…
As much as I have issues with Barbie and her ridiculously unrealistic body.. I was impressed by the versatility of the colors… They truly really look amazing!
Let me know if you think a look like this would be wearable..
While we are it… plllllllease let me know that I’m not the only one in the world with issues about Barbie!!!!!

What I love about the barbie loves mac ad is the candy pink opaque lips. The ad shows a somewhat dark skinned woman with lips that are perfectly laquered in hot pink, but is that really even possible to do on dark lips using only some mac lipstick,liner and gloss? I have medium skin with purple lips, and I tried a “laquered” fuscia lip. It came out looking somewhere between the picture of you and the picture of the model. Do you think it’s really possible to do that using only mac lip products, or are they being a little bit misleading?

if ur lip has a dark color on it, which and you would like to show off the lipstick you are wearing, use a lip primer (yes they exist), and use a nude lipstick, lightly, just enough to cover your naturally darker lips, and then add your bombshell pink on top. sounds like a lot, might be a lot, but it helps.

Oh my goodnes gracious… I loooveee Barbie. I know you have your issues about Barbie’s body but come on is a fantasy doll, it never intended to stick to reality, i would be gross if she had a realistic body. Since I got my first Barbie Doll back then 1979, I loved her and got so stuck in Barbies that I still collect them! Her face is so perfect, her hair so soft, her clothes are so fashionable and shoes are the bomb… so please never disrespect her, she is a worderful doll that encapture all the dreams of a girl like me.
